Last updated: June 18, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Guess the Language, an IT quiz game available on the web, as a Discord Activity, and as a Windows desktop app (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Guess the Language is a free educational quiz game covering programming languages, cybersecurity, DevOps, and networking. Features may include solo play, multiplayer rooms, score leaderboards, and Discord Activity integration.
2. Eligibility
You must comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines when using the Service inside Discord. You are responsible for ensuring your use of the Service is permitted in your jurisdiction.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use offensive, abusive, or misleading display names on leaderboards or in multiplayer
- Attempt to cheat, manipulate scores, or disrupt the Service or other players
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service’s infrastructure
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
4. Leaderboards and user content
Player names and scores you submit may be stored and displayed publicly on global leaderboards. When launched as a Discord Activity, your Discord display name may be used automatically. You are responsible for the name shown on leaderboards where you can set it.
5. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of quiz content, or preservation of scores.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers of Guess the Language shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
7. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Open source
The project’s source code is released under the MIT License. These Terms apply to use of the hosted Service, not to your use of the source code under MIT.
